The Bovet Récital 30: Worldtimer Innovation in a Refined, Wearable Case
Few watch manufacturers blend technical mastery, lived tradition, and modern functionality as Bovet does. The new Bovet Récital 30 takes the brand’s groundbreaking worldtimer complication—first engineered to solve the perennial challenge of Daylight Saving Time—and places it in a more wrist-friendly, universally appealing case. This is a timepiece that marks Bovet’s direction toward accessibility in haute horlogerie without compromising on ingenuity or artistry.
A Smaller Yet No Less Exceptional Case
Bovet’s worldtimers have received prestigious accolades, including five GPHG prizes in seven years. Yet previous iterations, such as the Récital 28, were reserved for collectors undeterred by size, complexity, or price—46.3mm in diameter, 17.85mm thick, over $700,000, and produced at a rate of just six pieces annually. The Récital 30 addresses these barriers with a manageable 42mm diameter and 12.9mm thickness, retaining Bovet’s signature domed sapphire crystal and elegant wrist presence. Available in grade 5 titanium (CHF 68,000) and 18K red gold (CHF 96,800), the case is the first in Bovet’s modern history to be fully manufactured in-house, reinforcing both quality and brand identity.

Revolutionary Worldtimer, Daylight Saving Solved
What sets the Récital 30 apart is its patented roller system, allowing clear, tactile adjustment for all 24 global time zones—including New Delhi’s notorious 30-minute offset—through two familiar pushers:
- The top pusher rotates each city roller by 90°, enabling seasonal changes between UTC, daylight saving, and other formats.
- The bottom pusher advances the 24-hour dial by one hour, making time zone shifts intuitive and precise.
The caliber R30-70-001 automatic movement provides a robust 62-hour power reserve and drives not only hours, minutes, and world time but also a dedicated 24-hour indicator and, in select versions, a bespoke minute hand tied to New Delhi time—a testament to both universal and client-specific customization.
Functionality Meets Design
Despite the technical feat, the Récital 30 is recognizably Bovet, with city rollers and hands displayed on a dramatic black-and-white dial and an exhibition caseback engraved with a “world time glossary” for instant reference. Owners may even request bespoke city names, dial colors, or configurations, facilitating a personal connection with their timepiece.
Refined for More Collectors
Compared to Bovet’s most audacious works, the Récital 30’s case shape and user interface are gentle introductions for a wider collector base. It’s limited to 30 pieces in red gold for 2025—still exclusive, but more reachable than prior editions. The Récital 30 exemplifies how established independent brands can bridge horological art and real-world convenience, offering not just technical prowess but the promise of perennial wearability and genuine joy for those passionate about global timekeeping.
